Remember this guy?

I had the pleasure of shooting him and his lovely parents a few weeks ago in Santa Monica for a little photo shoot before the arrival of his brother or sister. Well, turns out mama had a girl and what a gorgeous little one she is. What was immediately noticeable, even in the little photo announcement I received on my iPhone was how much darker she is compared to her older brother, but once I met her in person what I also noticed was that she was very serene…already a peace with the world around her.
For this newborn photo session at their home in Beverly Hills I brought along a couple of props. One prop in particular, a vintage coral suitcase I had purchased a while back from a vendor on eBay, was waiting for just the right family for it to be christened. The suitcase was perfect, not only did it work well with the colors in the home, but it also referenced the fact that the parents are world travelers and as such this little angel is likely to need a suitcase of her own very soon.

So, I’ve heard that going from one child to two is a huge change, but that going from two to three is not such a big deal. As the parent of an only child (for now still on the fence about the second), witnessing the change in dynamics from a one child family to a two children family was very interesting. What registered most with me was the fact that the parents are now two-on-two, double the joy, but also double the chaos
Let the fun begin!
