I’m not big on putting stuff on my fridge which seems to be the traditional space for displaying kids’ art. However, I am big on showing my son that I am proud of him and encouraging his blossoming creativity and inner Picasso.
Our home has a little arch in one of the halls; what’s left of an archway concealed in a renovation done some 50+ years ago. I’ve always thought that the arch would be a great display area since the arch creates a nook that helps to draw attention while containing the space. This weekend I finally decided it would be the home to my son’s revolving art gallery. The project only took half an hour to complete, excluding going to the hardware store and standing in line. It was so worth it. The display makes the space feel really happy and my son couldn’t be more proud to have his paintings and collages displayed so prominently.

To try this at home you will need:
- a drill
- thin gauge rope
- clothespins
You don’t need an arch, just a space that you can dedicate to your kid(s)’ artwork to create a collection. Putting like items together helps bring visual cohesion, in my opinion a much better alternative to making your fridge look like a mess.
